Nightlife, The Eye, Beer

Sorry it has been so long since I last posted, we have remained busy since we landed here in Europe. I am now on a train from London, England to Edinburgh, Scotland, so I will update you guys with everything that has occurred between my last entry and now.

After we had wondered around most of the iconic places in Paris with the family as noted in my previous post, Brandon and I decided to venture out on our own. I wanted him to see the Eiffel Tower at night while it covered in golden lights. Our hotel was around 20 minutes by metro from the tower, but it took us quite a bit longer to get there due to the extra time it took to figure out which train we needed to get on. However, we managed it and it was only a little stressful. ;) The nightlife in Paris around the Eiffel Tower is incredible. There were hundreds of people still milling around underneath the beautiful structure while green and blue neon lights raced across the ground and fell from the sky to the bouncy pop music that played at a local club. Night completely changed the atmosphere in the city of love; it was now mesmerizing, romantic, fun.

The next morning we said our goodbyes to France and boarded the train that took us through the Chunnel to London, England. We all stayed in a hotel in Twickenham, 12 miles from the center of London and right next to the Rugby Stadium. It was a quaint little place where you could feel its age in the air. Our first night there we walked around to familiarize ourselves with the town and grabbed a bite to eat.

On Saturday we woke up early to go see the most popular icons of London: The Eye, Big Ben, and Buckingham Palace.  From the top of the eye you could see all the way to the horizon; it was quite a sight (even though this is my second time being on it :p)!

Afterwards we decided to walk. For a very long time, a very long distance, in a couple of circles. Then, decided to crash in a park outside of the Britain Museum.

Once we finally returned to Twickenham, for dinner we ate London’s famous fish and chips.
After our long day we were extremely thankful to get back to our hotel. However, once we had rested, Brandon and I decided to visit the Twickenham Tavern and take advantage of the non-21 drinking age here. It was definitely an odd experience purchasing a beer at 20. :P
